In recent years, the advanced transportation control system gets rapid development and application all over the world. On one hand, it can improve the efficiency and safety of the transportation system; on the other hand, the application of the intelligent transportation system plays an important role in the continuous and stable development of national economy and the society economic benefit.In this dissertation, the whole design scheme, the function compartmentalization and the traffic light signal time setting technology are deeply discussed, according to the actual mixed traffic status, combining with the developed work of Qingdao Ei(?)ense Network Technology Co. L:d.. The main content of this thesis is as following:Firstly, several typical advanced intelligent traffic signal control systems and their characteristics are introduced. According to application of these systems in our country and our actual traffic circumstance, the unsuitability is obvious. On the base of this case, the adaptive traffic signal control system which is suitable for our actual mixed traffic is put forward.Secondly, the hardware design is introduced in detail, according to the design scheme. The key part of the system is the control board. The CPU of the control board is MCF5272 which is belong to Coldfire serial microprocessor produced by Motorola. The design of CPU cord board with MCF5272 is mainly described.Thirdly, how to designed the software of the signal control system with C++ in the embedded operating system Vxworks which is the product of Wind River is discussed, and the program flow chart is given.
