Study And Realization On Illumination Control System Based On DCS Of Railway Station

The illumination system of railway station plays an important role in ensuring passenger's safety when they pass in a caliginous environment; it holds a consequence in the railway passenger transport service. At present, most of domestic railway station illumination systems there exist some problems such as old control manner, old method on information management, etc., so these systems can not meet the new requirements of railway station on safely production and saving energy with the fast developing national railway. Consequently, developing a new illumination control system can bring great economy benefit and society effect.This paper put forward a method introducing the distributed control system (DCS) widely used in the field of industrial control into the railway station illumination system. Using the DCS, the station illumination realizes automatic control, database management and the long distance access of system information.The DCS is an industry automation system conforming to "dispersing control, centralizing management". It is widely applied in many fields such as electricity, chemistry, oil and mine. Now it gets more energy from the development of fieldbus. As the basic of the railway station illumination automation system, The DCS can not only assure it work steadily, but also replant and extend expediently.The framework of the new illumination system is layered and distributed: as the bottom controller in system, PLC collects the data and controls the process; IPC, as the center controller, displays the data, operates the HMI, and manages the whole illumination system; RS485 connects the nodes of system control network, thereby transfers the data between IPC and PLC. Furthermore, the whole control system is linked to the railway station LAN, thus realizes the long-distance access to the information of the illumination system and the long-distance management.The whole system has been used one year in HanKou railway station, all function and target can satisfy the needs of railway station. The system works stably. Its maintenance is very convenient.
