| On the basis of analyzing the feasibility of applying Ethernet technology to the communication system in substations in detail the concrete application mode is studied, a communication controller with multiple interfaces(CAN , RS-232, Ethernet) for heterogeneous network interconnection is presented in this paper. Through this communication controller, the interconnection between low speed serial bus or field-bus and high speed Ethernet and the conversion from serial bus and field-bus protocol to TCP/IP protocol can berealized easily.
