Recently, the technique of serial bus and field bus can not satisfy the needs of Substation Automation System(SAS) communication network development, and the Ethernet used in SAS become more common. With popularization of the IEC61850 protocol, the use of Embedded Ethernet technique is imperative under the situation. The thesis researches the application of the Embedded Ethernet in SAS communication network. The work contains two parts.Firstly, the thesis brings out a scheme which Relay & Monitoring Unit(RLY) is connected in Switching Ethernet without Communication Manger Unit(CMU). The thesis realizes the scheme by two modes which are UDP and TCP. A particular introduction has been provided in the paper about the scheme which RLY uses Embedded Ethernet based on Rabbit2000+Dynamic C. The author introduces the protocol which RLY uses, and describes the Embedded communication software programming flow carefully.Secondly, the work is about the design of Ethernet communication and debugging software used to communicate with the RLY. The thesis researches unicast communication software and multicast communication software which uses the Windows Socket programming technique. The paper introduces the two software's programming models.After debugging, the Embedded communication software of RLY and the Ethernet communication software have both worked well.At last the thesis bring out the scheme of SAS network communication based on IEC61850+MMS+TCP/IP.
