Automatic control of thermal process is an indispensable technical step to guarantee the security and economical running of thermal equipments. With the improvement of unit load and parameters of the thermal power plant, and also with the complicating of thermal equipments, automatic control systems are required more and more efficient. Because the coal pulverizing storage system is a main electric consumer in power plant, there is practical meaning for how to improve its automatic control level for lower electric consume. However the coal pulverizing storage system is a highly relevant, lag and MIMO nonlinear system and its dynamic properties change widely with circumstance. All properties above make PID-controller can't gain comfortable result. So in order to gain efficient control, some advanced control strategies should be raised.Based on #11 boiler's coal pulverizing storage system in Minhang Power Plant, the paper puts forward efficient control strategies according to each sub-system's dynamic characteristic, gained with experiments on site. Details are as follows. Fuzzy-PID strategy is used in ball pulverizer's entrance press control and feeder's outlet press control. Adaptive internal model control is used in load control of ball pulverizer. Feeder's inlet temperature control and pulverizer's outlet temperature control are well resolved based on the phase compensation. Decoupling method is used in all coupled taches. The paper also referred artificial intelligent method to fit in with some especial instances, such as coal block up and coal halt. Advanced no-disturb control technique guarantees no disturbs occur when switch among these strategies. Combined with workers' experience, the paper designs intelligent scheme all through the milling system's start-up and stop course. After all control methods referred above be applied to #11 boiler's milling system in Minhang Power Plant, the system run safely and efficiently. The strategies are validated wonderful. The auto-control system exploited in this paper achieves all parameters in milling system auto-control and its result keeps ahead in our country.
