Study On National Park's Planning & Management Information System

It has been two decades since the first group of National Parks of China were founded. The National Park System of China has conserved plenty of natural and cultural heritages, and has achieved a great progress in public education, visitor experience, environmental preserve, and visitor service aspects.However, with the rapid increase of the GDP, and with the new policy of double weekends and Gold Week, the public have much more time for recreation at leisure, vacation, and tourism. The result is that all the National Parks of China face a tough time at public tourism service, tourism infrastructure expansion, and resource preserve impact! Therefore, it's an urgent task to the parks to improve park management ability for resource conservation, visitor experience, and public education.In order to help to dissolve the problems described above, the thesis suggested an integrated planning and management information system for national park's planning and management based on the current study of international experience and domestic situation of geospatial information technology development and application. According to the requirement of planning and management of the national park, the system aimed to provide an integrated technical system for planning and management, and public service more scientifically and efficiently. At first, the thesis defined the basic concept of the National Park's planning & management information system. Base on the survey of current status of National Park's administration system and management requirement, the thesis worked out the general framework, theories and methods, and technology system of the system. And then, the general design of the system was discussed, which includes the system structure and the system function. The system database management was studied too, as well as the system development strategy. All of the achievements can be used as reference for further development. Based on the general study of the National Park's planning & management information system, the planning & management information system of Meili Snow Mountain National Park was developed along with the general planning of the park. The database management and application function development were practiced during the programming process. Finally, the thesis summarized the advantages and disadvantages of the National Park's planning & management information system, and analyzed the perspectives of the system on decision-making, planning study, park management, and information service in the future.
