The design of open architecture AC servo driving system is proposed. "Open" concept in this paper has two meanings. The one is that internal status, parameters and controller structure of AC servo driving system are open for customer and the system could exchange the information with other devices well. The another is that the system itself could be inter-operated with other devices for the whole industrial network system, which means different manufacturer 's products could connect on the same network and the system from company A could be replaced with the one from company B. The design of the serial communications links based on standard protocol is the basic step to realize "open" system. In the dissertation, two serial communications links have been accomplished. One is the simple, practical and reliable communication link based on RS232/485 and MODBUS Protocol. The other is the high-efficient and cost-effective CAN interface based on DeviceNet Protocol. According to standard communications protocol specifications, this two serial communications links have been established, through deeply understanding and analyzing in detail about those protocols.The experiment and application results indicate that the design is right. The device could be connected to standard industrial network by serial communications links, which provide the reliable research platform to realize fully open architecture AC servo driving system.About the dissertation structure, the "open" and its meaning are introduced firstly, and then the developing trend of field bus technology and AC servo driving system is presented. Secondly, the total design scheme about AC servo driving system is introduced. Thirdly, the realization process of those two communications links is described overall and debug platforms and experimental results are displayed well. Lastly, the conclusion is made and the future work is suggested.
