Construction Of Open Sea Dykes In The Eastern Shore Of Zhejiang Province

Based on the example of the engineering construction of the open sea coastal levee in Zhedong, the key design techniques for the construction on soft-soil-foundation are discussed, and the special dumpy structure is put forward for the structure of the coastal levee. The main studies are listed as following:1. Based on the general situation, engineering environment and features, the choice of the type, and the state of the construction of the Zhedong open coastal levee, the damage causes and the tide-resistant standards are analyzed. The study indicates that the probability of storm-tide, conditions of geology and land form, and the task of the coastal levee must be synthetically considered.2. The design methods for the design high tide level, wave element factors, the design altitude of the crest and the enable part wave overtopping discharge are analyzed, with the design of the Zhedong's type, the special engineering measures are studied for upgrading the engineering's safety.3. The waves' mechanism of action on coastal levee are analyzed, and the origins of coastal levee' damage under the action of waves are studied. Then, the basic principles for the determine ation of coastal levee cross-section are presented, and the measures for weakening the waves and protecting the slope in front of coastal levees are synthetically analyzed.4. Combined with first standard coastal levee engineering in Longwandingshan, using the model test, the safety of the coastal levee structure is researched under the special enable overtopping discharge.5. Compared with the first engineering of Longwandingshan, the effective program for building coastal levee on soft-soil-foundations and the principles for determinating the coastal levee altitudes are studied.
