Manufacturing enterprise is faced up to more and more competition pressescoming from market and competitor in time of information, how to take theadvantage of information technologies and management technologies to helpenterprises maintain continuous development become the key point. Although be arising technology, the workflow management already show a prosperous future in theapplications of manufacturing enterprise automation process. As a center ofmanufactory, management and automation in shop floor level will affect theenterprise competition directly. It is the very work of this paper to research theapplication method of workflow technology in work floor of manufacture field. The paper first presents the concept and definition of workflow management andits current development, point out weakness of traditional process management inwork floor of manufacturing enterprises. On the base of all these analyses, the authorbring workflow management into process management, characteristics of processmanagement based on workflow is analyzed, and the idea of supporting BusinessProcess Re-engineering (BPR) with process simulation is put forward.Secondly the paper put forward functional diagram of a Production ProcessManagement and Simulation System Based on Workflow, and the author givesgreat emphasis on model methods of workflow, including process managementoriented and simulation-oriented workflow model, method of designworkflow engine, rules for instance execution, method of simulation andso on. Finally the paper develop a prototype system and demonstrate howthe system works by a concrete instance.
