Die&mould industry, whose survival and development and the long-term accumulation of the enterprise’s knowledge and experience are inseparable, is a technology-intensive industry. The design documents, design cases, process documents, personal experience and knowledge of the mold engineers, and solutions to the problems of each mold-reviewing meeting have turned into the important knowledge resources in the modern mold enterprise. It is the major problem faced by the managers of mold enterprises that how to acquire and manage the experience and knowledge in the mold manufacturing process, and how to encourage the staffs to contribute their experience and knowledge, then to formalize, digitalize, and explicitly save them for sharing and reusing in the enterprise internal net. Thereby, the knowledge management of the mold manufacturing process from the demand analysis, technical realization and application is researched.Firstly, by investigating and analyzing the production process and characteristics of the mold enterprise, the knowledge intensive links and existing forms in the mold manufacturing is summed up and the knowledge requirement in the different stages of the mold manufacturing process is analyzed, so as to provide technical routes to knowledge management of the mold enterprise.Secondly, the object-oriented knowledge representation method of the mold manufacturing process based on set theory is proposed based on analyzing the existing knowledge representation methods and mould manufacturing field, combining the set theory and object-oriented knowledge representation. It puts the knowledge of the same features into a set and uses the object-oriented knowledge representation method to represent the set and its elements, so as to represent the knowledge of the mold production process. Since the knowledge reasoning and reusing should be based on the knowledge representation which should be beneficial to the knowledge reasoning and reusing, the knowledge reasoning and reusing method based on this paper’s knowledge representation is researched and the algorithm realization of the reasoning method is provided. In order to test the practicality of this method mentioned above, the manufacturing process knowledge of the injection mould is given as an example, the characteristics and classifications of the injection mould process knowledge is analyzed, and the knowledge reasoning and reusing process of the injection mould process knowledge is provided.After solving the knowledge representation and reusing technologies of the production process of the mould enterprise, the knowledge acquisition method based on workflow is proposed for the production process of the mould enterprise. Based on the workflow-driven, the mould production process is divided into tasks, roles, rules and procedures in order to acquire and manage the knowledge of the production process. By applying the workflow engines to manage, monitor and modulate them, it can effectively facilitate the knowledge and experience acquisition and management of the mould enterprise.Finally, based on above researches, the knowledge management system for the production process of mould enterprise based on the workflow-driven is designed and developed, the architecture is provided and the function and realization mechanism are introduced. The using methods and practicality and feasibility of the system are proved by the practical application in the mould enterprise.
