This paper presents the software of proportional valve CAD. The software uses Windows XP as its O.S. and uses Autodesk's AutoCAD2004 and MathWork's Matlab6.5 as its basic software. The tool of development is Visual Basic 6.0. The software includes five parts: the module of input and output; the module of proportional valve selection and calculation; the module of proportional valve circuit; the module of analysis of dynamic characteristics for proportional valve circuit; the module of interface. The paper introduces the principle of all modules and their realization. The software uses the following knowledge: software engineering, the object-oriented technology, ActiveX automation technology and so on. On the basis of collecting material about proportional valve, the software is developed with the methods of OOP(Object-Oriented Programming). According to the input of users, the module of proportional valve selection and calculation can judge and infer and call the corresponding modules of calculation to get right proportional valve from database of proportional valve. The result is displayed by chart. Furthermore, program can give warning to illogical parameter. The module of circuit uses AutoCAD to found the library of component symbol and basic proportional valve circuit. User can amend an available circuit and also can create a new circuit. The module of analysis of dynamic characteristics for proportional valve circuit presents mathematical models of typical circuits. User can get visible result of simulation by selecting the model, inputting parameters and selecting the methods of simulation. The software adopts the technology-ActiveX automation. Visual Basic uses this technology to control AutoCAD and Matlab. The software holds friendly user interface like Windows. It is easy to use and learn.
