Development Of Transmission Line Design Software Based On AutoCAD Environment

Transmission line design plays an important role in power network constructing. Traditional design method has many disadvantages such as wasting time, poor blueprint quality and inconvenience in management. By using AutoLISP language, the transmission line design software, which runs under AutoCAD, is developed in the paper according to the rules of design and some references. With help of the software the measured terrain data can be transmitted from total station instruments to computer. Terrain plane & profile sheets blueprint can be drawn and the ground database can be automatically created by the software. The towers can be automatically posited between given distance and the bill of brief materials can be created in the software. There are towers database that are often used in designing in the software. The software presents the advantage with good user interface and convenience for engineer to run because it is integrated in AutoCAD.
