Building energy consumption amounts to about one fourth of our nation's primary energy consumption. Generally, about 30% to 60% of the building energy is consumed in air-conditioning systems. The energy saving of building and HVAC system has become an urgent problem to be solved in China. The simulation of building energy consumption, as well as building automation system has a high value in energy saving of building. Establishing the communication interface between a building energy consumption simulation software and a building automation system, whereby accomplish real-time data transfer and automatic connection between these two software, makes it possible to combine the energy saving simulation analytical advantage of energy consumption software with the real-time control advantage of building automation software, thus produce the best energy efficiency. This problem has not been solved yet at home and abroad. In this dissertation, firstly discusses the application and meaning of the building energy simulation and BAS, and analyzes the recent development and research work of building energy saving and the building energy simulation of the world at present. Then the dissertation describes the basic principle and methods of load calculation, proposes and compares the different methods of building energy simulation. EnergyPlus is a new-generation building energy simulation programs. The dissertation present the basic principles,features, and new functions of the software, and compares it with the other the popular building energy simulation programs. Because of the large energy consumption of the central air conditioning system in commercial buildings, the building energy consumption of a high-rise office building in Beijing is simulated in summer by EnergyPlus, furthermore some control methods of energy saving are also simulated. According to the resulet of simulation, we get a suit of optimal control methods of energy saving. Finally, based on the building automation system production of American ALC Corporation-WebCTRL, we completes the program and application of the control methods which obtained by simulation, analyzes energy consumption and economics of the HVAC system according to the practical operation results of the system.
