It's urgent that improve the public traffic's transit and business level by the Geographic Information System (GIS), vehicle Location, digit communication, computer network and other modern technologies, following by the Urban transportation situation getting worse and the Public Transportation First tragedy's setting up. Under this background the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is appear and developing. As important part of the ITS, the Urban Public traffic Monitoring and Scheduling System (UPTMSS) is mainly made up of three Subsystem, include the Monitor and Schedule Center, the Public Vehicle Onboard Information Terminal Unit, and the Communication Network. In the past years, the research of UPTMSS was becoming hot, and achieved some fruit, but the research is still restricted for the single bus line trial. This paper focus on the UPTMSS database design and realize, which will accelerate the application and research of the UPTMSS.Based on the analyses of the UPTMSS system construction, the paper point out that the special database that can well sustain the system must be set up. The paper's research emphasis is the UPTMSS database design and realize. Firstly, through analyze, include and abstract the amount of special data and attribute data of the system, the UPTMSS database is sort out five entities by the ER theory, which include public outside environment, road network, bus line network, public traffic passenger flow, and public traffic monitor and schedule. Secondly, we give out the five entities' concept design and the part of data form's design. At last, we use the ArcSDE extend construct model to integrate the GIS and RDBMS, to realize the UPTMSS database. As the huge demand of special data of the database, we give out a public traffic suitable Embedded Data Collection System (EDCS), which well resolve the problem of database's data collection and update. |
