The modern oil tanker, as a type of vessel for the liquid cargo transportation, has a lot of peculiar mechanical equipments and systems. Cargo handling system is one of these kinds of equipments.The International Maritime Organization has given elaborate and strict requirements on the handing safety of equipments and the emergency disposal of the oil tanker in the SOLAS 74 and MARPOL 73/78. Based on these requirements, it' s necessary to research on the advanced technology for the development of the cargo oil handling system simulator of the modern oil tanker, for the drilling of seamen with the application of computer simulation. It' s meaningful to improve the level of maritime shipping education and operation skills of the students and the crewmembers.The study selects the, double-shell, 60,000 DWT oil tanker as the archetype to design the advanced software, hardware system and the control platform, to make a steady foundation for the actual development of the simulator system and the level of automation of the tanker.In the thesis, the description of the cargo handing safety is given firstly, and the methods to model the cargo pumps and pipes system are researched on then. After analysing the existed structure of some simulators, the synthetic design idea of the system is given, and so is the detail design of the hardware and software system. Then a study based on the control theory by comparing the characteristic of the different model is conducted. At last the actualizing of total data acquisition module and simulation of pump system is given, and the simulating experiment of the cargo auto-control handling in lab is achieved.
