Research On CAN-Bus Communication Adapter Based On USB And Application

Fieldbus is a kind of digital, bi-directional transmission and multi-branch communication network which connects intelligent equipments and automatic system. It is the production of synthesis and integration of computer technology, communication technology and control technology. It is an open and distributed new pattern.CAN (Controller Area Network) is a kind of fieldbus and a serial communication network which supports distributed and real-time control efficiently.USB (Universal Serial Bus) possesses good characteristics such as fast transmission, high reliability and flexibility. It has been widely used in the PC peripheral devices and potable system.After full research on CAN and USB, make good use of the advantages of CAN and USB to design the CAN-Bus communication adapter based on USB. The CAN-Bus communication adapter based on USB updates and extends the adapter of other interface protocol in the previous CAN system. In this paper, first, emphasis on hardware design of CAN-Bus communication adapter based on USB is put, second, software design method of the adapter is introduced, last, application in the marine monitor and control system is provided, at the same time, the latest development of marine monitor and control system is introduced.The first part of this paper introduces CAN in detail.The second part tells the USB interface technology and USB protocol.The third part is the core. It gives the hardware design and introduces the importantelectronic components of PDIUSBD12 and SJA1000 at the same time.The last two parts give the software design method of the CAN-Bus communication adapter based on USB, application and IPMS.
