The new request on propeller's measuring performance is put forward because of the maximization trend in development of propeller. The static balance measuring theory and method has been studied and the theoretical foundation with practical meaning is offered for the static balance measuring in large-scale rotor, such as propeller, etc in this paper. The following work is carried out in the paper.Firstly, the rotor has been classified according to the basic theories about static balance measuring and the static balance measuring of different kinds of rotor has been analyzed and studied. The main factor influencing static balance measuring method is summarized and the theoretical foundation of the fully hydraulic static balancing machine with high accuracy is offered.Secondly, the model of centering system, locking system and suspending system that are the main mechanical part of the fully hydraulic static balancing machine with high accuracy have been set up. The main measuring performance indexes, such as sensitivity, stability, measuring precision, etc. have been analyzed.Thirdly, some conclusions are drawn through analysis of measuring influence factor such as centering error, friction moment and etc. The centering problem about rotor is the primary factor which influence the measuring precision and the error must been paid attention to in the progress of static balance measuring. The position of suspending fulcrum and the friction moment are all related to measuring performance of the static balance appearance and these parameters should be paid attention to when designing. The computer measuring system is an error factor on the static balance measuring and it should be paid attention to when hardware setting and software conceiving. At the same time software engineering may offer a new way for the error compensation of measuring system.Finally, the computer measuring principle and method on static balance is put forward. Hardware setting and software designing are taken for the measuring system according to the request. And test on the spot is taken to the static balancemachine and measuring system which are designed. The test result shows that the fully hydraulic static balancing machine with high accuracy and its measuring system are effectual in static balance measuring for propeller.The research work of this paper offers a certain foundation for the study of static balance machine and also offers some theoretical foundations and measuring methods for the static balance measuring of huge rotor such as propeller.
