With the rapid development of microelectronic technique, sensor technique and single-chip microprocessor, and their wide application in construction machinery, it has been urgent that security monitoring and malfunction alerting system with high reliability and quality must be installed on construction machinery, which can real-time monitor the working condition and predict its malfunction. On the basis of the study on the security monitoring system at home and abroad, this thesis introduces a new one for construction machinery, which takes advantage of the technology progress in the fields of electronic, computer, sensing and wireless communication. The system not only performs the general functions such as detecting, controlling and so on, but also can record the history data of overload state, and output parameter and working conditions by taking advantage of LCM interface.In order to make the function of the system more perfect, improve the advances, and guaranty the credibility, modularization concept is adopted in this paper to make it possible for users to add formation unit dynamically to meet different needs without any changes of the system' s hardware. The monitoring system is made up of a host single-chip microprocessor system and several subordinate single-chip microprocessor systems. The subordinate single-chip microprocessor is used to sample information, perform A/D function, and then send them to the host single-chip microprocessor by wireless communication. The host single-chip microprocessor through input by keyboard can send prepared data to the subordinate one. After processing the received data, the host single-chip microprocessor displays the result, and sends out controlling signals.This paper reasonably selects monitoring parameter on the basis of mass analysis of the features of hidden trouble in the working construction machinery, such as tire, diesel engine, hydraulic pressure system etc. The designing idea, the total scheme and the correlative basic knowledge of the hardware and software of the host single-chip microprocessor and subordinate one are discussed, and some key sections are analyzed in detail.This system with the core of PIC16F87X single-chip microprocessor, followed by some processing circuits, whose circuit is drawn and simulated by ProtelDXP, and whose monitoring program is programmed by assembler language, completes the function of security monitoring and malfunction alerting of the construction machinery. Moreover, this paper adopts a series of software-and-hardware protective measures so as to improve the anti-interference ability of the system.
