A water supply system is a special network, which systematically supplies consumers with water by pipe and assistant installation to meet their production, living and fire.protected. The traditional water supply system is often criticized by its low efficiency, poor quality of water supply, which fails to meet the increasingly improving living standard. However, the new water supply system controlled by computer is characterized by remote communication, data collecting, remote monitoring and controlling. What is more, it can analyze automatically and make the reasonable decisions so as to guarantee the quality of water supply, the safety of water supply system as well as its economical operation, thereby guiding the development of the future water supply system. Therefore, this paper probes into the new water supply system controlled mainly by computer, which contributes a lot to the research in this field. Firstly, this paper analyzes requirement of the new water supply system, the Data Flow Diagram and Control Flow Diagram, thereby offering the whole design project of water supply remote monitoring and controlling system. It also divides this system into three sub.systems, Measuring and Controlling Sub.system, Measuring and Controlling Terminate Sub.system, Management Information Sub.system. Secondly, based on the requirement analysis and theory of relation database, this paper establishes the database model of water supply remote monitoring and controlling system with Entity.relationship Approach so as to realize persistent saving data, rapid searching and statistics as well as the others functions, thereby saving a lot of manpower. It is also the foundation of Management Information Sub.system. And then, this paper analyzes profoundly the different controlling objects in the Measurement and Control Terminate Sub.system, thereby establishing the PID (Process ID) control model of flux, pressure and water position in water tower. Finally, after study the communication of water supply system profoundly, thereby designing the suitable GPRS modem. This paper does the further study on Protocol of GPRS modem Short Message Transmission and network communication, and gives a detailed description of the design of the software and hardware of GPRS modem.
