Glass curtain wall is one of the most popular forms in the world during these years. This paper introduces the development state, the composition, characteristics and extensive application of this kind of glass curtain wall. In this paper, the disposal, the theory and the characteristics of glass curtain wall are analyzed. The prestress is provided, which is the key problem in construct technology of cable truss. Prestress technique is the essential measure for cable truss to obtain necessary stiff and stability. The key procedure of prestress technique, the importance of prestress, the control principle of prestress and various prestress loss are also explained in this paper. When designing and calculating glass curtain wall, the deadweight,wind load, earthquake action, and temperature load should be considered. And the strength and stiffness of cable truss should be ensured.A practical project is adopted as the analytic instance in this paper. The area of the glass curtain wall is 12m×12m, and the supporting system of the glass curtain wall is composed of two steel truss and cable truss. Using the ANSYS software, nonlinear static analysis, modal analysis, spectrum analysis and eigen buckling analysis are carried out, which provides effective academic explanation and reference, proves that structure with rope connection in points is a reasonable, light-duty, wind-resistant system. Some results and conclusions are valuable for engineers and researchers in this field.
