Due to its advantages in open-eyeshot, good day lighting and remarkable architectural effect, pointed-support glass curtain wall has been used more and more in public buildings in China. However, the researches are falling behind, especially researches on the six-pointed supported glass curtain wall, which falls behind the application of the actual engineering. In China, the technical codes and technical specifications for curtain wall never offer the calculate formula for the six-pointed supported triplex glass under load. This paper has done some further researches on the static capability. The main achievements and conclusions are briefly summarized as follows:1,FE results show that the span, the thickness of glass and the distance between the center of the pole and the edge of the glass all have obvious influences on the maximum value of the strain and stress, while the thickness of the PVB material has little effect on it.2,This paper puts forward a modified formula for calculating the maximum value of the glass' strain and stress under load . From the comparisons of the strain and the stress between the four-point supported glass and the six-point supported glass under load, we can see that both of them have the same variation trend of the maximum strain and the maximum stress which change in accordance with the affecting factors. But the strain and stress of the long side middle point of the four-point supported glass become obviously larger than those of the six-point supported glass. Therefore, the formulae used for four-point supported glass should be modified when it is used for six-point supported glass.3,According to analysis of a large number of finite element models, the paper has summed up the applied modified modulus table. The designer can use the table and the modified formula to calculate the maximum value of the strain and stress of the six-pointed supported triplex glass without building and analyzing a FE model.4,According to the calculation of the two actual engineering, the calculation validate the fact that the modified formula and the modified modulus table can satisfy the calculation's precision requirement. In the end, combining with the curtain wall engineering of some opera, this paper puts forward a safe and effective construction project of the point supported monolayer cable net curtain wall, and sums up the construction notices of the point supported glass curtain wall which could be consulted by the construction project design of the point supported curtain wall.
