Rotating drilling rigs is a new type of foundation construction machine. It becomes the mainstream product in the foundation construction machine as many advantages of its own. So it is very important to study its characteristic structure-leader. The leader is one of the important structures of the drilling rig. At present, there is a fat lot information about the theory analysis of the leader. Many factories in home have developed all kinds of products just base on the series of their own. But they didn't synthesize and study them entirely. It is very complex, the large simplification must be made and the calculation accuracy must be low. Larger safe-factor is often adopted to ensure the lead safe. This must result in large structure size, much material cost and higher manufacture cost. Finite Element Analysis is a method of high speed and high fidelity. The stress, displacement, stability of the leader is made clearly after finite element analysis. In the design stage, at the same time, it is conveniently to improve the structure of the leader repeatedly to reach the target of structure optimization. Reduce the structure size cost. Advance the efficiency of designing and manufacturing. The advantages and disadvantages are got. Building model, calculating loads, deciding boundary conditions and creating mesh are discussed in detail. The main contents in the dissertation are summarized as follows: 1,With analyzing the structure of the leader. The tool of draft mirror and feature mirror is often used during the course of building the model. All these simply the process of building the model; 2,Some danger working condition such as upgrading(stepping up), rising, drilling are all analyzed in this paper. And the loads of these working status are calculated. The mass and the center of gravity of the offal are detected; 3,Stress, displacement figs are plotted after FEA and some data is detected. The results of the calculation are particularly analyzed. In addition, the material-strength method is applied for the exceptional working condition. The analysis results of the FEA are correct; 4,The stability of the leader is analyzed. Some slender parts of the leader may fail in buckling. The results show the leader is stability; 5,The reliability of the leader is analyzed, in order to show whether it is safe or not. In this paper, a lot of analysis and calculation is made by FEA, which provides mechanical simulation for the design of the leader and scientific basis for selecting structure forms. Deciding structure parameters increasing dynamic properties, reducing manufacture cost of the integral body of the leader.
