Since applications of packaging carton become more and more abroad, improving design efficiency will increase manufactures' profits. Compared with domestic relative systems, the foreign carton structure CAD systems are more expensive. And in domestic markets, the kinds of relative systems are not so enough. Differ from existing carton structure systems, this paper presents a new method to develop packaging carton structure CAD system. We process a secondary developing based on the AutoCAD platform that combined with ObjectARX to develop a carton-easy-design CAD system.This project develops packaging carton structure CAD system that based on right-angle hexahedron carton. In the CAD system, it takes advantage of AutoCAD's open architecture, combines the ObjectARX, COM, Process, MFC technologies etc. Some key details in carton structure have integrated into the carton structure CAD system. These predigest the design processing, save design time and decrease designer's labor intension. In addition, the system accomplishes all needed-function, but also improve its interface, makes it more harmonious and friendly.The project adopts the DXF file format as the carton structure unwrap drawing's final file storage format. It is easy to implement in AutoCAD environment. The file storage format offers a convenience for the latter technics (plate making by laser mould machine. etc).
