With the acceleration of urbanization process, a series of problems have appeared and influenced urban hydro-ecology. For one thing, the urbanization process has altered the original water circulation, resulting in the urban-characterized hydrological effect and water environment effect, For another, the process has changed the nature of ground and conditions of climate, causing a fundamental shift in the traits of urban stormwater runoff producing and confluence, as well as more stormwater related factors leading to flood. However, with the traditional urban stormwater drainage mode, a mono-circulation of water system has been formed. The consequence is that rianfall water resource is thus wasted and reception water resource is also contaminated. Therefore, a modern urban stormwater drainage mode should be made to achieve a balance between how to reduce stormwater disasters and how to make use of the potential value of rainwater resource; meanwhile, to maintain the healthy circulation of urban hydro-ecological system.Based on the stormwater drainage resource utilization project in hydro-ecological construction of the new district —CBD (Central Business District) in eastern part of Zhengzhou city, this paper mainly focuses on the discussion of urban hydro-ecology oriented stormwater utilization mode. After reffering to large quantities of data in the country and abroad concerning hydro-ecological construction and stormwater utilization, the author first analyzes how urbanization process influences water resource, water environment and water circulation. Then based on the analysis of stormwater features and its ecological mechanism, the author presents stormwater drainage system modle for urban hydro-ecology orientation.A series of other models are carefully explored in this paper. First, the urban stormwater spot utilization modes are discussed. (such modes include roof-rianwater storage, hollow grassland and ground infiltrating infrastructure , ect). A quantitative analysis has also been carried out on the various measures for spot use. Secondly, the urban storm runoff simulation model is also presented and the construction of the model is elaborated. Meanwhile, flood disasters caused by stormwater in urban areas are analyzed. Thirdly, in order to solve the pollution problems occuring in "the first flush" and tomaintain the healthy circulation of rivers and lakes, tow models are put forward: one is urban stormwater eco-purification model and the other is circulation design model for rivers and lakes, both of which can be helpful in the utilization of constructed wetland to purify water resource systems and thus form unique wetland landscapes. Fourthly, on the question of how to collect urban stormwater for focus usage, another modle is put forward. It is believed that the modle can bring about tow benefits: on the one hand, stormwater can be accumulated to provide water resource for rivers or lakes in cities; on the other hand part of the stormwater can be utilized to meet other urban water distribution demands. Both respects will contribute to a healthy water circulation in rivers or lakes. Finally, by taking the overall interest of urban stormwater resource utilization process into full consideration, a model is presented for the analysis and calculation of the recycled amout of stormwater. Additionally, a qualitative analysis on the risk that exist in the utilization process is carefully conducted.
