The thesis studies the power matching technology of the motor-driven shock tank type wave maker. Wave maker is the major equipment of wave simulating in the laboratory. Wave stimulating is very important to researches on ships, water conservancies, nautical construction, petroleum exploitation, etc. Power matching is the key technology of wave-maker designing. When the power is excessively conservative, the motor will work beyond the margin of the capacity, causing large volume and increased weight; whereas when it is underestimated, the wave-maker can not generate desired waves. With theoretical analysis of the output power of the wave maker, the study brings forward power matching principle and calculating formulae based on the average load, and applies them into theoretical calculation of a case. The experimental results reflect that the output power of the AC servo motor changes periodically and the actual values of the average load power coincide well with the theoretical values of it. Therefore, the power matching principle of the motor and the theoretical calculation formulae is guidable when the power design of the motor-driven shock tank type wave maker is concerned. In addition, the power calculation of irregular wave generation is discussed and experimental study is preceded. The results indicate that if the motor power is matched according to the max drive request of making regular wave, irregular waves meeting various wave spectrums can be generated. By utilizing MATLAB 6.0, software for power calculating and experimental analysis is developed during the study, with which theoretical calculation of the motor power under different wavelength and strokes and digital filtering and visualization of the experimental data could be performed.
