The simulation of sea environment in experimental basin is a kind of experimental research technology which develops along with the engineering of sea exploring. The simulation of wave is very important besides the simulation of wind and flow. Wave has very big sense for the research of ship, water conservancy, ocean architecture, ocean oil exploitation and etc. Wave-maker is such a kind of machine to simulate waves in experimental environment.This paper introduces the actuality and development trend of technology of develping wave maker, then works on the motion control technology and its key issues. Focus on the ROCKELL company’s Softlogix5800Programmable controller, integrated SERCOS interface motion controller principle and practical applications, ladder diagram programming etc.According to the project’s requirements and feature, choose the best type of generating wave and explains the workng principle. then download to the Softlogix controller, communicating servo drive using the SERCOS interface with optic fiber as the transmit medium transmitting the control signal to servo drive and control the servo motor to work, via encode line as the feedback of the motor.Then discusses each component of the control system.At last, in the chapter of designing and actualizing of the software expatiating the main program that programming using VC and the control software design that programming using Rslogix5000, and particularly introducing the communication between the two software. Then give the relevant programming example.Some experiments were done after the completemnet of the system, and the results show the quality of the system can satisfy the request of laboratorial flume...
