Recently, especially since 1990, the transition and differentiation of city structure have being trended up with the change of social structure, which is the precondition and background of the architecture rebuilding in our country. The rationality in architecture rebuilding is going to be a outstanding problem with the development of society, and it must be noticed that irrational architecture rebuilding will have negative effect on the stabilization and harmonious development of our society. The research of architecture rationality in rebuilding in this article is based on the background above.As a foundational science, sociology is always been neglected in the research of architecture rebuilding. The article starts from theories of rebuilding tendency in sociology, and reveals the existing commonness point in social aspect by rationality analysis of the cases. Trough summing up the estimation standard of rationality in architecture rebuilding, the article tries to provide new methods and thoughts for architecture rebuilding.The article counts up to six chapters besides the foreword section. Chapter one gives a brief introduction to research reason, background, meaning, contend, and methods. The chapter mainly aims to put forward some serious questions brought by urban renewal and architecture rebuilding, and study the meaning of rationality research. Chapter two reviews the meaning of rebuilding and relative theories in both Western country and our country, which forms the study background of article. Chapter three introduces architectural and sociological theory which is related to the research in this article, and finishes the main theoretical basement through social development, technical improvement, social concept and microcosmic-social-role. chapter four studies the rationality in architecture rebuilding integrating with examples and sociological theory, and excavates the irrationally social reason synoptically. Based on the concluding and summarizing of the forenamed content, chapter five puts forward the evaluating system of the rationality in architecture rebuilding, and analyses the application on how to use the evaluating system practicably in the examples. In the six chapter, it declares the intention of the article again, and brings forward the expectation to go on to develop about the evaluating system of the rationality in architecture rebuilding.The whole length of paper contains approximately 63,000 Chinese characters, and 90 illustrations among them.
