As an advanced mode of transport, container transport has been the main mode of trade and materials transport between nations and between regions in the world. Since 1970s, container transport has been greatly developed in Chinese railroad, which more technology, capital and equipment were invested, and good social and economic benefits were achieved. However, we should also note that there are big gaps compared with the countries and regions in which the world container transport is developed, in scale , mechanization, modernized management level and transport mode of container organizations.Along with the rapid development of Chinese and world's trade, throughput of port container maintain high-speed growth. In 2005, port container throughput of our country has reached 75 million TEU. On the other hand, container trade growing brought new challenges for development of container port transport. For the construction of port transport facility is ignored in the container port development which is different from the port water depth, channel facilities and container handling equipment, the port transport facilities has become the bottleneck of the container port cargo flow. According to statistics, Chinese current port container transport mainly depends on container truck, only 2 percent to 3 percent's shares are undertaken by railways. Thus, it is imperative to develop port rail container transport.First, this article analyze the container rail transport hub in detail, including rail container node stations in hub region, the facilities, equipment, operational procedures, container train transport mode of the station, the composition of port railway and the handling process, and offer the realistic basis for the creation of models and simulation models in future.Second, on the basis of modeling theory in generalized stochastic Petri nets, the logistics system of container port railway is divided into rail handling line and yard, and builds the responsive theory models respectively based on the GSPN, the answer-acquired methods of the GSPN models are given. For example of the railway line handling subsystems, we derive the stable probability of existence probability, and analyze the performance indicators of theoretical model.Then, introduce the basic elements of Witness simulation software and utilize Witness software to establish port overall simulation models, at the same time,take the multi-operational way as the main content and build the part model of the railway handling system and accomplish the two-dimensional simulation of the whole and partial model. Design basic parameters of model, operation flow, cell modules, anddefined stat performance parameters so that these evaluated the model performance.Finally, propose four operational mode and simulation processes of container port railway, and in a certain simulated condition and simulation plan, through simulation testing, analyzing and studying the merits of the various operational modes. And at the same time, according to the simulation analysis of the overall model, choose the best plan of railway operational model, and give the best number of container truck. And offer the beneficial reference for the planning and construction of container port railway.
