This dissertation summarized the design and developement on newgenerated real-time visual system of automobilism simulator. It firstly gave the software and hardware environment, and then described its design plan and strategy detailedly on the base of analyzing the problems of today's automobilism simulator. Meanwhile, it builded the mathematics model, and gave the examining plan on collision of automobile. Then it elaborated systemly its achievement and basic algorithm of roaming system. Finally, it summed up the full text, and put forward the next prospect.As the most important component of automobilism simulator, the newgenerated real-time visual system is a completely new visual simulation and scene management system. And it improved extremely the quality of visual simulation by adopting advanced three-dimensional modeling technology, visual simulating technology and virtual reality technology. Combined with "The research and development of automobilism simulator based on distributed virtual reality technology" and other projects, it structured a three-dimensional model database by applying the three-dimensional modeling software MultiGen Creator. And the three-dimensional model included static state object, dynamic state object and scene. Then in order to define the attributes of all objects, author drew into the attribute-divided concepte in the model, that different attributes belonge diffent groups, and the same attribute belonges the same group.Visual simulation system was developed on the base of graph developing base OpenGL and developing software package of visual simulation system OpenGVS. And it used computer to generat virtual and dynamic traffic scene when the car is moving, and do the visual simuliation for driver. The new visual simuliation system could generat hi-quality screen quickly and steadily, which reduced the demand of hardware for expediting graph. And author used the crossing and monitoring function of OpenGVS to design and develope topography date inquiring program, by which we counld visit the three-dimensional model data base, and calculate geometry characters of roadbed and other physical attributions. Collecting geometry charactersof roadbed provided methods for realizing accurate collision handling in automobilism simulator.The newgenerated real-time visual system of automobilism simulator can generat traffic scene which having virtual reality characters, and enhance the quality of simulationg environment. Besides, it alse realizes to monitor geometry characters and physical attributions of roadbed, and resolves the roadbed inputing problem in non-level roadbed automobile dynamics model, which establishes the base for automobile dynamics simulation.At the sametime, to resolve the problem of inferior sense of reality in traditional visual system of automobilism simulator, author added Shader based on Cg Language, and created lifelike water surface effect, multi-resolution texture effect and other special effects, which strengthened screen quality of the whole scene.This automobilism simulator realized simulation experiment on non-level roadbed. On one side, it improved its dynamics model to fit various kinds of roadbeds;and on the other side, it improved its visual simulation system, which could accord with training demands and satisfy requirements of society.
