In recent years,plenty of nonlinear impact loads have been connected to InnerMongolia Ulanqab urban region electrical network. This has caused seriouspollution for our city's quality of electrical energy,and increase of the powerconsumption of power user. These nonlinear loads are mainly using the arc furnaceof alternating current to smelt calcium carbide,ferroalloy,silicon calcium,ferrosilicon and silicon manganese etc. take area load 80% more,now,it is stillincreasing successively. To solve the problem of our city harmonic pollution,fromfountainhead,when high-consumption user will be connect to power supply,projectfor its harmonic level foresee assessment,confirm it whether the program level andelectromagnetism compatible level that satisfies our development of electricalnetwork. This paper has introduced the arc furnace's particularity of electricalproperty and its harmonic,the principles of forecast assessment,the deduction ofcalculation formula and the application examples.
