With the progress of computer technology, the traditional model for water supply control by experiences has not met the requirement of the water industry growth, so water industry has to promote the level of the management and operation ceaselessly. The technology of computer simulation could build the general management system and inquiry system for water supply network, display the operation station of the network on the screen, provide the ground for control and management, which would reject the blindness management resulted from the invisibility of the network equipment. This article divides the network into two components: junction and pipe by the abstraction method, and puts forward a new method merely using the matrix of pipe-junction relation could create the topological model which decreases the quantity of input data greatly. In addition, it explains the progress of building database management syste(?) and report system based on ACCESS, according to the component qualities of construction, topology and hydraulics with friendly GUI(Graphics User Interface). And then, it describes two kinds of computing methods: gradient algorithm and linearized algorithm, deduces the two iterative formulas, points out the merit and the defect of two algorithms, and proposes the second one to create the dynamic model of hydraulics since the algorithm could include not only the characters of pipes, junctions, but also pumps, valves and check valves. At last, this paper introduces the analysis process of program and the components of the simulation system in water supply network with the language MATLAB orienting scientific analysis and engineering calculation. The programming could simulate the hydraulic transformation in water supply network by the map of isopiestic line, isopiestic area and flow direction through 24 hours in a day, which provides the scientific foundation for operation, management and rehabilitation design and makes them work more efficiently.
