Analysis Of The Space Conformation Of The South Street In Xi'an

Along with the completation of HaiTian Manson, the building creation of this important history district in the South Street of Xi'an has been finished. However, with the large-scale redevelopment in the South Street, the city which is the main content of Ming city historic relic has been demolished so seriously that protecting historic character of Xi'an and updating of Ming city become more and more important. At the same time, since the development of city is unavoidable, the question about how to preserve the Ming city in the process of urban development has been an urgent thing.This paper points out the historic street is the important part of historic city. The change of Ming city form reconstructed has been incarnated on street form. Summarizing the success and failing experiences during the street reconstruction through the analyses of present street, and finding out the deep factor which influences the change of the Ming city form can be used for the reasonable reconstruction in Ming city. And this paper points out the research measures drawn lessons from the typology theory.In based on a great deal of history information, the paper points out the different space appearance of the each period in South Street. The paper completely analyzes the present condition of the South Street, and compares the street dimensions, building form, building color, building grace, space preface row etc., and points out that these result in the change of history street. Summarizing variation tendency of South Street ,the paper points out that the change of the street seriously destroyed the historical shape of the street.The final part of the paper is a comprehensive appraisement about the reconstruction and transformation of South Street . The paper thinks that the construction of street after the 1980's was unfavorable to the protection of the Ming city, and gradually become more and more worse in unappropriate construction. The paper points out which thinking of Xi'an old city protection is proved right or wrong, and gives the rule and strategy should be conformed in constrcution and redevelopment of Ming city.
