This dissertation discusses the design and implement of a boiler controller based on ARM9 and Linux. The task comes from a project from a boiler manufacture in Guangzhou.The dissertation firstly discusses the shortcoming in the filed of operating interface, data processing and networking of the former boiler controller which is based on 8-bits MCU. This shortcoming makes the boiler hard to meet the need of modern enterprises. We designed a boiler controller based on ARM9 which makes expandings in many aspects. The boiler adopts AT91RM9200 as its EMPU and will be focused on its hardware design;adopts Linux as its embedded Operating System and sets up the development environment;adopts MiniGUI as its GUI engine and based on which the touch screen function is developed;adopts SQLite as its database engine by which the system' s database is designed. As a small and new DB engine, the SQLite is quite often used in the filed of web applications (e.g. PHP&Java), but seldom used in the Automation filed.After introducing to the hardware design, the dissertation discusses the following topics in orders: setting up the development envirment, develop the GUI with MiniGUI, develop the database with SQLite. Moreover, the dissertation detailly discusses the process of developing the MiniGUI IAL engine for ADS7846 touch screen, and the design of system database, and the Linux device driver.
