Study On Some Issues Of Developing Regional Intercity Express Railway In China

With the acceleration of urbanized process in China, the cities of comparatively developed region have already begun to the direction of gathering together, and will form a regional economical entity of takeing one or more cities as the center and joining the peripheral towns.The development of the regional economy depends on the perfect system of intercity and urban transportation.At present, scholars have deeply studied on urban transportation system and it has formed a set of comparatively complete theory, but little on regional intercity transportation especially on regional intercity express railway. Given the characteristic of urbanizing process and the demand of intercity passenger traffic market in China, the regional intercity express railway is the best mode of all regional intercity transportation modes. Therefore, it is theoretically and practically important to study on regional intercity express railway.Studying on regional intercity express railway and using system analysis thought, the paper, adopting both qualitative and quantitative methods, defines the concept of regional intercity express railway and studies on the matters that it will be faced in process of planning, which provides theoretical support for the development of regional intercity express railway.On the basis of regional space organization theory, the general rules of the relationship between transportation infrastructure and the development of regional economy, and the transportation supply and demand theory, the paper draws the general rules of regional intercity passengers flow through the analysis of their going-out demand influence factor. After the comparison with methods of the passenger flow forecast, the paper bulids a "two-phase" passenger flow forecast model of the regional intercity express railway.In order to confirm the organization of train operation in planning regional intercity express railway, relative problems are studied, including velocity target value selection, the establishment of reasonable interval, and the concrete matters of passenger train plan, such as its influence factors and principles, operational organization modes, the choices of passenger train, the principles of the marshalling quantities on a group of intercity EMU and DMU and the number ofintercity trains in a line per day.The quality of link-up plans which between the regional intercity express railway and other transportation modes such as urban mass transit > urban traffic and existing railway are influence on the volum of passenger flow and the operation results of themselfves, because passengers of the regional intercity express railway are mainly from intercities passengers. Therefore, the transfer plans are studied from the point of transfer distance and transfer time.
