In this paper the vehicle heat balance has been discussed by solvingthe engine overheat of HF5 that occurs in the condition of hightemperature and heavy humidity. There're two key points in this paper: first, solve the engineoverheat of HF5 car, second,go on accumulating the experience ofresearch heat balance of car and improving self-design level of carcooling system.Heat balance performance of car is of vital importance to the useautomotive. Induced from the solutions of engine overheat of HF5, inthis paper the reasons of overheat were introduced and its solutionsaccording to the heat balance test of HF5.First, the ratio of ventilation is not high that means the use ofspeed wind of vehicle is limited. The small open area of grill andunreasonable position of radiator and AC compressor and the lack of sealcomponents between the engine bay and the grill and the front bump arethe reasons which causes the overheat of the engine bay and thecircumfluence of hot air. Redesign the grill and some sealing partsbetween the engine bay and the parts above is the solutions.Second, the specifications of radiator is not correct. The radiantquantity of heat can not be satisfied with the need quantity radiantheat of the engine. Overheat occurs at high temperature and highrotating speed during the test of vehicle heat balance result from thesmall radiant quantity of heat of the radiator. The solution is toenhance the quantity of heat of radiator.Third, the specifications of blower is not correct. The wind volumethat offered by the blower can not be satisfied with the need quantityradiant heat of the engine. Overheat occurs at idle speed during thetest of vehicle heat balance. The solution is to enhance the wind volumeof blower.Base upon, Some of the parts model of cooling system such as radiator& blower etc. are rebuilt. The specifications of blower and radiatorare rectified and the grill structure is optimized and the validationratio of the car is improved. Each of the improvements are put forwardto the heat balance test on the heat balance test specifications andevaluation targets of HF5. Test results show that the direction and thesolutions and simulation test in this paper is successful and themodifications are effective and feasible in solving the overheatproblem of HF5 engine, which greatly accumulates the design experienceand enhance the design level of cooling system independently. On the other hand we optimize the cooling system of HF5 by takingsome competitive vehicle as reference and analogy. In this paper some good use for references and experiences wereintroduced though the processes of solutions to the engine overheat ofHF5.1.In this paper mathematics model of cooling system were built as a wholeand thus provide a useful basis for the analysis of the vehicle heatbalance. In this way the traditional designing methods that thecombination of subsystem were put off and the principium concept ofvehicle cooling system is built.2. We met some representative problems during the process of solvingthe engine overheat problem of HF5. Not only all the solutions to thusproblems but also the reason analysis can really provide us some veryuseful references.3. In this paper a new criterion of heat balance test for HF5 car iscompiled and though this we perfect the value standard and testcriterion of heat balance of vehicle in self-develop field.4.The cooling system is optimized though the association of design wordand heat balance test for the first time. The study result indicatesthat we can reduce the design period and enhance the competition of newcar by heat balance test and it can give impersonality values to theability of heat balance of the car.5.In our country we still have a long way to establish our own designspecifications of every system of car. The design experience of coolingsystem is summarized in this paper and it can be regard as the basisof the cooling system design specifications for HAFEI motor in thefuture.
