At present, compound heating system gradually increases in the bus heating. Compound heating system is use of the afterheat of the engine and heater to provide heat for the bus. Compound heating system could make bus engine start more easily, reduce start exhaust and mechanical friction ,save energy sources. The afterheat of the engine include cooling water heat and Exhaust Heat, they could be calculated by thermal equilibrium analysis of the engine.To thermal equilibrium study of the engine, the use of simple theoretical analysis method is not able to accurately calculate the distribution of heat, but mostly use the method of experiment and numerical simulation of combining. Thermal equilibrium experiment involves many factors, The specific engine performance parameters could be seen by experiment. A reasonable and workable balance of thermal equilibrium experiment system was designed , and by use of software BOOST of AVL company made the numerical simulation calculate of thermal equilibrium. Presented a method to directly calculate the loss of engine waste heat, and the each percent of heat radiation and convection heat transfer in the loss of engine waste heat had been calculated. Through testing and simulation that combustion decide each heat of engine was found. Speed and load have an influence on each heat by combustion.Last ,on basis of cooling water heat, improved the compound heating system and designed the radiators in heating system.
