Wavelet analysis is a new time-frequency analysis method which has raised a research upsurge internationally in recent years. It is regarded as a breakthrough of Fourier Analysis. System identification using wavelet transform is an active research domain in current structure engineering and has strong engineering background. The correlative theory and technology are developing continuously. This thesis is concentrated on the research of the system identification using wavelet transform. The main subjects are summarized as follows:1. The transient parameters are distilled by the compound wavelet transform of the vibration signal. The free vibration response of the light steel structural building is analysed by Morlet wavelet. The transient frequencies and amplitude are obtained from the ridge of the wavelet transform. So the parameters of the system are identified.2. As a new type of light steel structure, new type of light-gauge steel structure has been adopted abroad widely as a kind of architecture form and just has been developed later in our country these years. Because of the existing obvious differences between the principle and methods of design and application in overseas and that in homeland, it is quite necessary for us to research the load bearing performance of this structure in theory and experiment aspect. Not long ago, a brand-new construction system named websteel environment-protecting residence which is exploited by Qingdao maihua websteel structure residential exploitation Ltd., a joint venture financed by China and Canada. This websteel system have passed result evaluation masterminded by the science and technology developmental promotion center of ministry of construction. This study research the dynamic characteristic and aseismatic ability of the light steel structural building by means of earthquake simulation vibratory platform experimentation.
