The lack of experience and method to large scale engineering design and management, as well as the increase of the engineering quantity, make the problem in design and management more outstanding. The management mode based on workers' experiences, which not only leads to a mass in management but restricts the development of whole set engineering design now, can not meet the needs of the even more complex requirements in engineering management. So it is exigent to establish a consummate design system of refrigeration engineering to improve the efficiency of the design and the profit of the enterprise.This thesis analyzes the present status and trends of Refrigeration Engineering, and studies the parametric design and BOM. Through the research, this thesis analyses the main idea and method parametric design, and studies the application and function of parametric design in refrigeration engineering, and expounds the content and function of BOM and the method to integrate with CAD system, and analyzes the building method and management of BOM in refrigeration engineering. This thesis forms the system model of the parametric design system, and analyzes the architecture and function module of the system. And then, the system emphasis on the analysis and design of the store management for pipe and equipment, the deployment of pipe system, the building and management of BOM and the database management.In the end, this thesis develops the system prototype by adopting further development technology and database using AutoCAD VBA, and the practical test shows that the system can make the management of the engineering convenient, and improve the design efficiency of refrigeration engineering.
