The Research Of Contemporary Archi Tecture's Humanistic Size From Phenomenology

Nowadays, the building industry of our country obtains excellent achievements. However, people catholically feel a kind of perplexity during the course of our delight at the same time. The flourish and disturbingly noisy of material can not cover up emptiness and indigence of thought. Hence, we have to ask ourselves again: What is architecture? What does it actually mean to us?For all those problems doubtlessly close to the ontology of architecture, we should seek the essence standing in the position of philosophy, and we can discover that the essence of architecture is the humanistic essence in the final analysis. The "humanistic size" based on this thought is the most essential one to measure architecture, and is the unique size really and internally. The establishment of humanistic size is aim to rebuild and discover the humanistic value, and to search and design the ideal abuttal of our living. All above mentioned reasons inevitably lead to the change of the focal point of realization from self-restriction of architecture entity to human, and the understanding culture activities. But in any case, the "humanistic size" is only a scattered kind of discurse, so the deep and systematical research to it needs to be pushed forward by a kind of methodology. Architecture phenomenology is just the systematical theory about this spirit. Its "place theory" and "perception theory" are the theory headspring of many architects' practice, among who the most famous architect is Steven holl. So this thesis is focus on the analysis of Steven holl. On the one hand, the realization of these two theories can be intensified. On the other hand, furthermore, this shows us the possibility of individual explaining to "humanistic size".Besides, in other humanistic architects' works, we can also find out so many very important qualities of architecture, which had been ignored by us for a long time. Understanding them deeply can help us rethought the chaotic realization of architecture, and help stimulate and enrich the design ideas which become rigidand closed because of lack of humanistic concern.
