Research On The Feasibility Of Safety Facilities On Rural Highways

On the basis of traffic safety and safety facilities status on rural highways, the paper analyzes a variety of factors which can influence traffic safety about racing driver, vehicle, route, climate and so on. And the function and price of a series of popular safety facilities are compared in this paper. According to the status of the rural highway and the principle of "the smallest investment gives rise to the biggest benefit", the specification, placing principle and method which are suitable to rural highways of the safety facilities such as roadside protective device, traffic signs, markings, refuge driveway, and so on are put forwards. In accordance with all the parts of safety facilities investment and the economy loss of traffic accidents, this paper gives a calculation method to safety facilities investment and the economy loss of traffic accidents, and the conclusion of the paper can be used to be a judgment of feasibility and economy benefits of placing project of Safety facilities.
