Rent years, with the high speed development of transportation and the constantimprovement of the construction of the high-grade highway network, the rural highway hasgot more and more attention from the relevant national departments as an important supportfor the trunk road network. But many hidden dangers in traffic safety also increase very fastas a result of high speed development of the highway construction. It leads to a growingproblem of the traffic safety of the rural highway. At the same time, because of somerestrictions of development and lack of, the significance of traffic safety of rural highway hasnot got sufficient attention which is deserved.In order to achieve the goals that are, reduce the traffic accidents of rural highway, makeevery village has its safe road and service for the construction of new socialist countryside,the influence factors and the problems of traffic safety of western rural highway aresufficiently realized and grasped by comparing the safe condition of rural roads of abroad anddomestic and taking a field investigate of the western rural roads. And this paper analyzes thecharacteristic of traffic accident of rural roads. From this point, by the way of theoreticalanalysis and field data, the factors that influence the traffic safety of the rural roads are wellanalyzed and studied from the aspects of human being, road, car and environment. On thebasis, this paper proposes the measures to improve the safe condition of the rural roads, whichare popularize the knowledge of traffic safety, improve the traffic safety devices, effectivelyplan the road and key manage the black-spot.
