With the rapid development of the water-power constructions of our country, hydropower station of higher pressure and larger capacity were constructed, and more attentions were paid on the reliability and rationality of the high-head gate. Which type anchor gate and which kind of waterseal material should be selected is a key problem.This dissert was spreaded over the above two aspects.Firstly, existing types of high-head gate, their operating principle and their merits and drawbacks were introduced. Then the properties of waterseal materials were analyzed. Based on the experiment results, through the least-squares procedure, the parameters of all kinds of materials were determined. And then, the solution method of nonlinear equations and the computing formats of rubber-typed materials by finite element method were given.In Chap.4, the description of contact in watertight gate was given, after that, three methods were given, which are Penalty Function Method, Lagrange Multiplier Method and Augmented Lagrangian Method, and their convergences were compared by examples.The states of contact areas is changing, for the pressure is always acts on areas which are in open state, so the detailed procedure of applying pressure on the contact areas was also given in chap.4.In the end, based on the bottom anchor gate of Longtan hydropower station, a series of analyses on the state watertight materials under several waterseal types were given. Better cross forms and watertight materials were selected through those analyses.
