Along with the development of information technology in water resource industry, SluiceAutomatic Monitor System is attracted more and more attention. Old Gate auto-monitor system haspoor reliability and low measuring accuracy. Based on the researches of domestic and foreign,the paper study the gate monitor system which adapts to the requirement of our country, thesignificance for increasing benefit and quickening modern degree of resource industry is discussed.This paper takes Jiaxin hydropower station in YanShou Country for example. Firstly, brieflyintroduce the development of small hydropower station and Gate monitor system in domestic andforeign, and the main advanced technologies used in Gate automatic monitor system are discussed.Included distributed control system, Fieldbus and Programming Logic Controller (PLC) etc. On thebasis of these analyze, combined with the advantages of Single Chip Microcomputer andDistributed Control System is designed on the Gate automatic monitor system, and the designprinciple of the system with functional analyzing are brought forward.The whole system has two parts: Host computer design and Lower system design. In the lowersystem, AT89C52 is used as the core of the control system, sampling circuit, A/D circuit, RS-485communication circuit etc are designed. Though the relays control positive, negative turn and stopof the motor, to control up, down and stop of the gate. In the lower system software design, thecontrol soft of MCU uses C51 language, developing gate self-regulation program andcommunication program. The host computer system includes: main module, gate monitor systemmodule, historical data query module and warning module. The host computer system is developedby Visual Basic language, and finishes the main task which is used to communicate with the lowercomputer system.By analyzing the method of canal water level control, the paper analyzes controllingcharacteristic of canal water level system is nonlinear, time-varying and time-lagging. It is difficultto establish the precise mathematical model. So the traditional control methods can not work out itwould be successful to apply fuzzy control strategy in canal water level. At the same time, appliedsoftware MATLAB is used to simulate the water controller. The simulation test results show thatthe system is stable, less regulating time and less overshoot than by the traditional method, and theresult is satisfied, and it achieves the expect result.
