Intelligent Three-dimensional Garage (ITG) is an intelligent OPTO-Mechatronics car-storing/retrieving system based on automatics control technology and computer technology. In our country, as the automobile amount increasing ceaselessly, the situation is more serious and the parking problem becomes more and more difficult. An effective method to solve the parking problem is developing the Intelligent Three-dimensional Garage which adapts to the current situation of our country. This paper reviews and summarizes the forefathers' research of ITG, and expatiates the background and the significance of this thesis. Based on deeply and systematically study of ITG technology, a small size ITG is developed in this paper.Besides that, the conceptual design of ITG is carried on in the paper. Firstly, this paper optimizes the design of the ITG s steel construction and its finite element analysis subsequently. Secondly, based on the analysis of used transmission systems, this paper chooses the transmission project of the ITG. After that, the control system of ITG is designed to meet the ITG's function demands. Economical and applied sensors are chose to measure necessary parameters in the ITG. In the control system, this paper chooses the PLC of OMRON, distribute its joint, and provide its wiring diagram. The time of a car in or out is a very important parameter to ITG, optimal algorithm is used to optimize its efficiency. The communication between PLC and upper computer and its program flow chart are designed also.In conclusion, this paper finishes the research and development of ITG s steel construction , transmission systems and control system, and raises the further research direction finally.
