Retractable roof structure has been used widely because of its excellent capability. Construction of this kind of structure has become fashion inland in recent years. There are already more or less than ten small size retractable roof structures, all of them run safely. Large size retractable roof structure has been development too. ShangHai QiZhongSenLin tennis stadium open its roof in plane curve. JiangSu exhibition center which is in construction will be the biggest and the most complex retractable roof structure in China.Although experience has been accumulated, the research works still in the primary stage. Most of the papers about retractable roof structure in the world are introduction and conclusion of construction. Research recently relates to design method of structure and mechanism.Based on the research before, this paper does a lot of work in moving system. Take Huanglong retractable roof structure for example, design method is explained, rigid system and flexible system have been compared though calculation. And the suitable one has been chosen. The displacement on the condition of the roof is calculated, spring element was used for simulate the support condition of the roof to calculate the reaction between the moving part and fixed part.The "monolaer shell—cable" system is used in the fixed roof, its stability is been analyzed by nonlinear analysis method. The solution of no destabilization was found base on the reference book named "shell structure technology code"Construction of the retractable roof structure is more difficult than other building because of its high accuracy. The construction process is introduced and the special construction method is analyzed. Method of "frame fixed - cable tension" is analyzed. The tension force and deforming of the frame is monitored in the tension process. In order to insure the safety of the lifting process, analysis of inner force and deforming under construction condition is considered. And the gap between wheel and rail is calculated in different condition.Base on the analysis of moving roof, "wheel and cable drive" system was present. The component of the mechanisms system and control point is present.
