Going about the actuated signal control, the thesis looks for the effective method to alleviate the crowd traffic. Induction control often chooses the crossings of the smaller traffic flows and the bigger traffic flow waves. Former actuated signal control exists problems that detectors can exam little information and the way the detectors make use of information is too simple and monotonous. To solve the problems of traffic signal control at intersections effectively, enhance the efficiency at crossings and make the crossings have the highest the capacity and the lowest delay, different examined information must be used synthetically. Based on VISSIM software, the thesis puts forward a new actuated signal control method and carries on optimal designs at several crossings. Finally, the VISSIM software is used to simulate and analyze the designed actuated signal controls, and the main contents are as follows:(1) Introduces the basic work principle of the actuated signal, analyze several main forms and the superiority and limitation between timing control and actuated control.(2)Introduces the basic principles, expounds of the basic function and analyzes mathematical model of VISSIM emulational system.(3)Explains the language of VAP in the VISSIM, and detailed elaborates the basic function of sentences and the meanings of the language of VAP.(4)Carries on optimal designs of the actuated signal control at several crossings, mainly elaborates the thoughts of the optimal designs, and gives concrete design procedure.(5)Carries on timing control at the same crossings, and based on the VISSIM emulational software, simulates and analyzes the way of timing control and actuated control.
