Research And Application On Waterway Transit Capacity

With the development of regional economy and inland water transportation, the waterway jam already gets more and more serious in some developed inland water in our country. In order to adapt to the expansion of inland water transportation, it is rather necessary to reasonably determine the scale for channel and forecast accurately the planning waterway capacity for various grade. In this thesis, the calculation method of the waterway capacity has been improved legitimately after comparing and analyzing the deficiency of the past. Propose the possible waterway capacity and the designed waterway capacity based on the thought of Level of Service, and provide the corresponding calculation methods and dividing standards. Then on the base of Xijiang(Guiwu part) waterway data in 2004, analyze the randomicities of daily ship flows and calculate the waterway capacity at this waterway. Further confirm the foregoing theory. Through theoretical research and statistical analysis, it can be concluded from this research as follows:(1) Through comparing the former calculation methods of the waterway capacity, present methods haven't reflect maxim capacity under different running qualities yet. In this thesis the thought of level of service has been introduced to calculation methods of the waterway capacity and put forward dividing standards.(2) Divide waterway capacity into there classes: theoretic capacity, possible capacity , designing capacity. Put forward their concepts and calculation methods.(3) In terms of daily arrival data, statistic and analyze ship flows laws. among which, daily arriving ship according with Normal Distribution, the average headway according with Erlang Distribution approximately.(4) On the foundation of waterway capacity theoretic research and the field data of Xijiang waterway (Guiwu part),calculate its capacity. The result suggests that its Level of Service is less than average.(5) Aiming at the main influence factors of waterway capacity, put forward several measures to improve the waterway capacity, which includes improving waterway condition, improving traffic condition and improving Level of Service.
