In this dissertation, the mechanical apparatus and testing set for researching on the dynamics behavior of intermittent roller chain drives system have been set up.The operating principle and characteristics of servo-actuator are studied firstly. An electric cam system has been established which includes computer, PMAC (Program Multiple Axis Controller) and servo-actuator etc. Based on it, three program methods (PVT, SPLINE, LABVIEW) are adopted to make control software. In order to find out the best method, they are applied to the experiment, and the experimental results have been analyzed and studied.The kinematics and dynamics analysis of the intermittent roller chain system is presented. The study on polygonal or chordal action, the associated impact between rollers and sprockets and dynamic loading in the system is carried out with different motion laws.An experimental apparatus is set up to investigate dynamic behavior of intermittent chain drive system thoroughly. To pick up vibration signals when the chain is running, a set of special mechanism of groove cam with slider has been designed, which can keep the signal transmission wire synchronizing with the chain links, thus avoiding the problem of intertwist between the wire and chain links during the dynamic test. The influence of motion curves on the intermittent chain's dynamic characteristics at different speed is firstly studied experimentally, and a great number of measured results are provided. Meanwhile, the natural frequencies of the system are tested. The experiment results are the scientific basis for developing the dynamic model of intermittent chain drive system and examining the validity of theoretical calculation.Finally, referring to the characteristics of intermittent chain drive system, the design of motion laws for the system is studied on the basis of dynamic analysis, and a high-order moment modified constant velocity motion curve is established.
