The dynamic behaviors of intermittent chain drive have been tested in this dissertation.According to the characteristics of intermittent chain drive, the design of motion laws has been studied. And a constant velocity motion curve amended by 5-degree polynomial is established.The working principle and characteristics of servo motor are introduced. In this paper we discussed how to achieve intermittent movement with servo motor. Based on it, a program method of SPLINE is adopted to the controller and is applied to the experiment.The experimental apparatus of which can investigate the dynamic behaviors of intermittent chain drive systems is improved. In order to study how the preload affect the dynamic behaviors of intermittent chain, a setup which can expediently change the preload of the chain has been developed.Experimental investigation on the dynamic behaviors of intermittent chain with different curves and speed has been completed. The experiment results can represent the influence of motion curves on intermittent chain's dynamic characteristics.The dynamic behaviors of intermittent chain under different preload have been studied experimentally, the results can provide experimental basis for choosing appropriate preload.The natural frequencies of the system are tested, the results can provide scientific basis for developing the dynamic model of intermittent chain drive systems and examining the validity of theoretical calculation.
