The methods of modeling and vibration control on the intermittent transmission chain are analyzed and studied in this dissertation. The kinematics and dynamics analysis of the intermittent roller chain system is presented firstly. The study on the associated impact between rollers and sprockets and dynamic loading in the system is carried out with different motion laws. The model is constructed, which consider the vibration of drive sprocket's torsion and driven sprocket's crankle based on investigation on the dynamic behavior of intermittent transmission chain. The corresponding differential equation is set up and solved through Modal Superposition Method (MSM). The dynamic performance of the system is analyzed when the chain runs with various motion curves. The effect to the vibration of components of intermittent transmission chain is non-linear, which is caused by the stiffness change of drive sprocket's torsion and driven sprocket's crankle. Bring forward the method that reduces vibration of transmission chain through variable stiffness. Adopting one-dimensional search, numerical values of variable stiffness are calculated, which can actualize min vibration. The dynamic performance of the system is analyzed when the variable stiffness control is carried out in the system. The techniques that fit the intermittent transmission chain are advanced. Finally, a more complex model considering damp is established, the effect of damp is analyzed.
